Mother's day card

Image
Hello everyone!  It's been awhile since I last posted here!  I've been away to Greece.  It was a wonderful trip with my hubby.  And of course that meant no posting and I didn't schedule anything either.  1st time in forever that I took a break from blogging or youtubing.  It was nice and I got my head filled with ideas and looking forward to making them. I have made some mother's day cards today thinking that when I return to work this week there might be some requests.  The one that I'm about to share with you used a handmade embellishment that I made today.  I also made 2 sets (one yellow and one pink) to put in my etsy store.  You can find them here  and here . And here is the mother's day card that I made.  I used an image from Nicecrane to make this.  It's a precolored image. I used my Quickutz die for this.  I used some seam binding that I distressed.   The paper is from Blush by My mind's eye. I'm entering this little car

My make is a little journaling outside my box and it's done on a little cardboard.  The sentiment is from a magazine and I used a lot of diffent stamping as well as some stencils.  The image was colored with my tritone pencils.  I really love playing with those. I just ADORE how this turned out!!!  And I can't wait to share with you via video all the little cards that are in my box.  I have made quite a few. RSD - FB reminder Jolly Rodger

Image
Hey everyone!  I'm here to share with you my little make for the challenge going on over at FB RSD and friends .  This time it's about stiches (real or false).  In my case I did false!!! The image that I used is the fab  Jolly Rodger  to make a little postcard for my little nephew :)  The base for this was a cereal box .  I really do love using cereal box as my base.  And I'm happy to report that the postcard made it and my nephew was really happy. I used copics to color the image and many stencils and paint to make this.  The sentiment is from a magazine.  I decided to use a little dollar bill from a game because well pirates love their gold right?!? :) I'm entering this little postcard in the following challenge: Inky impressions challenges  - all about boys Robyns fetish challenge blog  - use a sentiment We love 2 create  - Anything goes mixed media Crafty time challenges  - for the kids Doodle pantry blog  - Anything goes That's it for me for

Ajna - TEW new release

Image
Hello everyone!!!  Hope you are having a fabulous week.  This Friday it's really busy on my blog especially since I decided to play with the latest release from The East Wind Ajna which you can find in the Etsy store . I was wondering how to showcase this gorgeous image!  And then I thought that I could put her on one of the background that I had colored in my Secret garden coloring book.  I don't want to just color those pages... I need to make it more so it's a journal in progress! For this I used a sentiment stamp set from Unity stamps that I thought would go perfect with her.  The colored page was done with my polychromos pencils.  The image however was colored with copics.  I really don't dare attempt doing skin coloring with pencils. Here's the closer version at the gorgeous image. I hope this will encourage you to play with your digis in different way like this one :) I'm entering this little coloring page in the following challenge

The East wind Challenge - 3d challenge

Image
Oh man... it's time for a new challenge over at  The east wind  but it's about 3d and that is always so difficult for me...   I really had to think long and hard about what I could make. And then I look through my stuff and saw a little clock that I had meant to alter some time ago.  That was the starting point!  And I used the great image  Faith Lettering You can see what it looked like and the process of making this in the little video here: And if you don't want to see the entire process here is the final view!!!  I used some different stamps to decorate this.  But the lettering was put really big because that's what I wanted as the focus!  We need to have more faith.  That little altered clock is now in my kitchen to make us remember. I really can't wait to see what you guys create!!!  I'm sure that it will inspire me in the future!!! I'm entering this little clock in the following challenges: Wordart wednesday  - anything goes Path of

Oddball FB challenge -April midway post

Image
Hello!  It's Thursday and it's time to share with you my make for the midway post of the FB challenge going on at Oddball  .  It's anything goes so long as you use an Oddball image and if you don't you should go and shop :)  You can use the code DTVICKY10 and get 10% off your order!!! In this little make I used the fabulous image 293 .  I wanted to try out something different!  I get a lot of inspiration from the wonderful crafters that put videos on Youtube.  And one of the channel that I really love to watch is  KagedFish .  If you don't know her you should check her out and tell her I said "Hello" :) There was a flip through of some of her previous work and she showed something using some collage square little pieces of paper.  And I thought this was really clever.  In my cutting up of magazine I came across some black and white pictures that I thought would be interesting for this process as well as a little poem (I didn't keep the entire poem

El Gato Dia De Los Muertos - Karleigh Sue

Image
Hello everyone!  I have to share another passion with you all!!!  Right now I just adore making postcards that I can send out to my friends and family.  This is what I'm doing this time for the  Karleigh sue  inspiration blog. The base of those postcards is recycled cereal box!  Super cheap right since it's something that would go to the recycling otherwise.  And since it's a postcard it's much cheaper to mail then an actual card!! When I saw the fabulous image  El Gato Dia De Los Muertos  I knew that this little cat would be fab for a little postcard to send to my grandmother. You can see the little making of this in the following video: And here's the make with the image colored with tritone pencils and polychromos pencil.  The sentiment is a play on word that I did in French and I typed with my brother label maker.  I used a bunch of different stencils as well.  Hope you like it!!! I sure hope my grandmother will like it! I'm entering t

En mass journaling - Miss Terry- Karleigh Sue

Image
Well I'm still at my latest passion of doing En Mass journaling (to know more about this you can check out this group on FB ) but I'm realizing that I can't just put pictures.... I really do need to add the digital images or else it doesn't feel like me!  And I really love to be able to find new ways to share digis!  They can be used in so many other ways than with a card.  The ones from Karleigh Sue are particularly nice for this! This time my page spread was about Fish!!! And well to me that means ocean... and of course you have to have a mermaid.  Yes yes I know they are not fish... but they swim with them right?!?  So the one that I used for this spread is  Miss Terry . And here's the make with the image colored with copics.  The rest is images that I cut out of magazines.  I used some stickers as well and some kids playing cards that I thought were just TOO funny!!!  Hope you like it!!!  I really have so much fun putting those together!  I already h

Faery Ink - Layla xoxo

Image
Hey everyone!!!  How happy are you that it's Friday?!?  I sure know that I AM!!!!!  Today I'm here to share with you another mail art envelope.  But this one was the 1st one that I did with a little window.... so you might want to watch this to see what happens lol.  The digi that I used on the back is a great digi from  Faery Ink  she's called Layla xoxo. I made a little video of my process so that you won't make the same mistakes I did... And here are the pictures.  The envelope is one that was taken from work.  It is an 8 1/2 x 11 that has little windows for the address.  I used some paints on this and sewed the edge close. I used some art foamies stamps on this and some stencils with some paint and gel medium. Here is the front of the envelope.  I just need to put a label to put the address on this. I hope this inspires you to do some recycling.  Imagine getting some mail in a colorful envelope instead of the typical bills... how fun right?!

Altered Playing card doll - RSD

Image
Hello!  I'm back and this time I'm here to share with you something new on my blog.  This is my 2nd doll but I didn't share the 1st one with you yet.  This one I used a great image from Rick St-Dennis this one you can find in the store here .  I thought that head would be awesome for a little altered card doll. I'm part of a FB group that you can find here .  And saw such great inspiration.  However when I went to do mine I thought it was a lot more difficult to make... because let's be honest here!  A playing card is not exactly the most flattering of figures for a woman... I'm pretty sure that no one wants to be that rectangle from shoulders to hip lol So I had to find a way to camouflage that she had no shoulders.... that's when I thought of some sequin ribbon that I had it was the perfect accessory for this lady.  I also found her arms in a Sears Catalogue, the dress was part of an Elle magazine cut out and the legs from another.  I added some washi

Altered mail art - Inspiration Conspiracy - Alumni Gallery

Image
WOW I'm now part of the Alumni of Inspiration conspiracy!  It's so fabulous to be part of an Alumni.  :)  and that group is just fabulous so when we were told that we could participate in a photo Gallery on Youtube you can see it fully here while they were hosting a new hop with fabulous channels that are probably unknown to you (you need to go and check it out here ). For mine I am obsessed at the moment with Altered Mail art so that's what I made.  And I'm soooooo obsessed with it that I asked that colleagues from work give me the big envelopes that they get bills into!!!  I'm recycling them.  Here is what I made with the envelope that I got. And here is the video of this: And here it is if you don't want to check out my video.

Arielle Tea Time - Faery Ink

Image
Arielle Tea time  was the perfect little image for a postcard to send to a friend. I'm always trying to find new ways to recycle and to use the supplies that I have and at the same time make my friends happy.  I thought that my little journaling card would make some great postcard if I changed a bit the size of them.  This is what I did with the fabulous image from Faery Ink. I have made a little video to share with you the process of this in case you want to do something similar And here's the actual little postcard that I made.  The image was colored with my copics.  I fussy cut her out and made little holes in her wings so you can see the backgrounds!  I used paints to make the background and I also used stamps this time around.  The little sentiment is a cut out from a magazine!  See you can recycle from many places. I hope you will be checking out this new image and that you will be inspired to send some mail to your friends!  It's something that we forg

If you didn't check out the video here is the little make that I did.  The base is a recycled cereal box!  Love that I get to recycle for this. I used all sorts of papers from my working table.  There was some sewing patterns as well as some book paper and some delipaper that I had used to cover my table.  The dream sentiment is from a magazine.  I used a little paper that I had punched a bunch of holes in as a stencil and then I doodled with my Faber Castell pen on that. Scribbles Challenges - Song in your heart - Midway point

Image
It's already time for the halfway point for the challenge over at  Scribbles Design challenge .  And our challenge for you this time is about finding inspiration from a song.  I'm using the fab digi  Moon Star .  And my song inspiration is quite old it's Moon River. I'm trying to do all sorts of different things for you so that you are entertained when you check out my blog.  So do do that for this make I decided to use my little book of alphabet.  I printed the digi quite large so the moon totally filled out one of my "M" alphabet page.  I covered the lettering of the book with black pan pastel and I colored the moon using my new Tritone coloring crayons.  I love those because they already color my images differently which means you don't have to do real shading.... you just play. I hope this has inspired you to do something different as well. I'm entering this little book page in the following challenges: Craftin
