Digi Makeover challenge #60

This week at Digi Makeover Challenge our challenge is about layers!  So it's time to layer up your cards.

DM060

So for my card I used the digi "all about the cake" it was perfect because I needed a birthday card.  So this one was made especially for my wonderful sister-in-law!  I can say it because she has received it.

I used a new pad of paper that I really loooove!  It's Jillybean soup - gazpacho soup I bought it at McMahon 5 on sale!  How fantastic!!!  I used a bunch of dies (classic rectangle large, latice rectangle, fancy tag 3 - all from spellbinders as well as Dee's flourish #1).  The flower is from Recollection bought at Michael's.  I added some Robin's Nest Dew drops in silver.

Well since my sister-in-law loves chocolat cakes!  I thought it was perfect to color this one as a chocolat cake.So this is done with my copics and I added some stickles to the candle and the wings.
Here's the wonderful sentiment from Create with TLC.  Just love
I hope that you will be joining us this week at Digi Makeover Challenge!  It's a fun one so go and check out the other work from my fellow DT members!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

  3. S J papercrafts - Birthdays (didn't use the extra...)

DDC # 35 - White Delight

Hello everyone!  Welcome to another post for my Digi Darlas DT card.  This time our challenge is "white delight"!  Got to admit that when I read that... I started to have palpitations lol... not very fond of white... love it in small dose but to do an entire card.... that's much harder for me!

So I thought and and thought some more and then I came across this most fantastic digi called Angel up!!!  Oh that was all that was required for my inspiration to come lol
So for this card I used some paper from BBP.  I decided to do some embossing so that there would be some texture, so used the divine swirl Cuttlebug divine swirl embossing folder.  I used some buttons that I stacked up and I added a little Robin's Nest Dew drop pearls.  The ribbon is from my stash.  To cut out the wonderful digi I used my floral oval.

I colored just a bit my image with copics and added some stickles to it.    She's soooo pretty that she really doesn't need much.
So will you be inspired to play with us over at  Digi Darlas?!?  Yes it's not that hard when you have the right image.  And you will have lots of inspiration from my fellow DT.

Sunshine award!

Wow I'm really lucky to have met amazing ladies through my DT work.  And one of them my fellow crafter Susan Martin from Scrap a thousand words as awarded me with a wonderful Sunshine award!

Here are the rules:

1. Include award logo in blog post.
2. Thank the blogger who gave it to you and include a link back to them.
3. Answer 10 questions about yourself, that you have made up yourself. (I might have to pinch a few!)
4. Nominate 10-12 bloggers and contact them at their blog site to inform them.

ohhhh so now 10 questions about me!  That's not easy

  1. What are the type of activity that you do if you are not crafting?  Well I was playing video games before I started doing this blog.  I really looooove Skyrim...
  2. What type of books do you like to read?  I really love the fantasy type of novels and these days I really love anything to do with vampires.
  3. How do you manage to do so many cards?  Ok I know that is one question that keeps coming up... I really need to be busy all the time... so if I'm not busy with my 4 kids I'm crafting.  I can't  seem to just watch tv...
  4. What's your favorite holiday?  I have to admit to loving 2 I really love Halloween and Christmas.  I decorate like crazy... not so much now since I'm busy crafting lol but last year I decorated my department for Halloween like a hospital ward!  It was crazy!!!  People loved it!  This year it's exactly on my year end... and with the new promotion... it won't be decorated.. I'm really sad about that.
  5. What did you want to be when you grew up?  I thought I was going to be a pediatrician.  That's what I was aiming for until I reached cegep and then changed my mind for University and went into administration.
  6. What's your favorite animal?  I have lots of pets (3 dogs, 3 cats, a bird, a turtle, fish) and I had more... but my favorite is probably the cat for their independence and attitude.  Funny thing is that I'm allergic to them... but still have them (see I'm really really crazy lol)  just love pets with the kids what can I say.
  7. Which is your favorite season? I used to love winter and fall... still like the colors of fall and the crisp air of winter but must admit to really loving summer as I got older.  Just the simple pleasure of not having to run around for mits and hats that are missing lol
  8. What type of music do you like?  I really love all kinds of music but my favorite is probably pop... just love the carefree aspect of it.
  9. What's a perfect evening?  Having sushi with my hubby and a glass of wine while the kids are busy and out of our hair :D
  10. If you would win a million bucks what would you do?  I would stop working and do volunteer work for the kid's school as well as for some other organism close by.  I would love to take crafting classes as well.
So now it's my turn to choose some people to pass this award to!  This is not that easy!!!  I would have chosen Susan lol but since she's the one passing it on I can't but just love the talent that she has... and she's chosen a bunch more of people that I really admire!

I really hope that the people that I choose will accept this award.
  1. Chana @ Card-d-ology - She was one of the 1st people that I met on the blog!  And she's soooooo nice.  Such an inspiration.
  2. Nataliya @ love crafts forever - oh my such talent, you really have to check out the work that she does... if you don't know her work you need to see it!!!
  3. Tammy @ tammy scrapin corner - She was the 1st one to give me a chance to be a DT!  Her team is amazing and so much fun.  Thanks Tammy!
  4. Choccy @ it's not terrys its choccys - Always super busy but always takes the time to check up on us.
  5. Kim @ scraps of faith - Because of the most amazing work that Kim does I'm totally but totally addicted to dies :D  Thanks Kim for bringing me to that side lol
  6. Sandy @Scribbles by sandy - Such a talented artist!!!  Totally love the wonderful digis that she does, if you don't know her you really really should!  And to top it off she's a fellow Canadian!
  7. Lyn @ Spyders corner - Yup not the type of name of blog that I would normally visit... but this is such a talented artist, so very funny and so very sweet (she passed all kinds of tips to me who was new to this world) just love her!
  8. Christine @ happy scrapper sweet pea cards - Such talent, just love all the wonderful craft that she does and really happy to have been on teams with her.  She's really been an inspiration.
  9. Sonia @ skdigis - Another talented artist!  Just love the wonderful digis that she does so happy to pass this on to her.
  10. Cinzia @ cinzia-creations - She might not be blogging every day but when she does her work is amazing and comes from the heart!
Such amazing ladies!  All different and talented.  I'm really lucky to have so much talent around me!!!!

Today at One stitch at a time challenge is Make 1 for Christmas!  So this is the perfect reason to start making those Christmas cards :D  I know that I'm trying to use all the possible excuses right now to get ahead lol

For my card I had the pleasure of using Wish upon a star from Kaz Kraftz.  It comes as a set with or without the star!  But I thought it was wonderful with this gorgeous star.
For this card I used paper from My mind's eye - The merry days of Christmas.  I also used some BBP cardstock.  The digi and the paper underneath were cut using my label 12 by spellbinder.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the blue paper.  I added some ribbon from my stash and so is the charm that I used.  I used some Flower soft for the snow.  I added some snowflakes cut with my MS punch and I put a little Robin's nest dew drop to it.

Here's a closer look at the digi colored with my copics.  I put some stickles on the star.
Here's a wonderful sentiment from Create with TLC which I thought was perfect for wishing under a star!  I added some Festive berries distress ink to the sentiment.

Crafting When we can challenge # 30

This week at Crafting when we can our challenge is to use the colors of a Flag!  And our wonderful sponsor for this week is Sassy Studio!!!!!

For my card I decided to do a card with Canada's color since I'm a Canadian.  But because I wanted it for a Christmas card I used the wonderful digi from Sassy Studio called Little Honey's Russia.
For this card I used paper from Basic Grey - Nordic Holiday.  I cut out the digi with Label 4 and the paper underneath with my grand label 4.  I used my regular classic circle for the circle with the sentiment and Scallop circle for the paper underneath.  I decided to add a little stack of buttons to the sentiment.  So used a white button and a red on top with a little ribbon through it.  I added a ribbon and a charm to the bottom of the card.

For the image I colored it with my copics and added some stickles to the hat and the little area for her hands.
The sentiment comes from Create with TLC and is part of a wonderful set of Christmas and winter sentiements that you can find here. Go check it out!  It's really full of wonderful sentiments perfect for this time of year!!!

Gingerloft - No coloring

This week at Gingerloft challenge, our challenge is about not coloring your image.... YUP no color!  That can be an easy task... but you have to use the proper image for this!
For this card I fell in love with Cello 3!  I thought it was just the most wondeful image for this type of challenge.  So yes I didn't use color on my image but I really went bright for the rest!   It thought it was the perfect contrast.

For this card I used some paper from Basic Grey - Konnichiwa.  I cut the digi using my rectangle fleur de lis, I used the square fleur de lis for the paper under the sentiment.  I also used rose creation also by Spellbinders.  The flourish under the flowers is from Dee's flourish #2 and I used the large flourish by Lalaland crafts.  The bling brads come from Eyelet outlets.
Here's a closer look at the wonderful digi.
I thought this sentiment from Create with TLC was just perfect with this musician.  Because to be talented you need to practice practice practice!  So never ever give up seemed really appropriate.

I hope that you will be joining us this week at  Gingerloft challenge.  I look forward to seeing your not colored creations!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Basic Grey - Anything goes
  2. Anything challenge - make your own embellishments (made the flowers)

Dutch Dare Challenge #188

This week at Dutch dare our challenge is to use lace and ribbon!  And our wonderful sponsor is Di's Digi.

For my card I decided to try to stay ahead with my Christmas cards... and to use a stamp that...gulp... had not yet been inked... yikes... I've gotten sooo hooked on digis that I have not played with my stamps in quite awhile.  This one is by Penny Black and it's called Mimi dear.

For this card I used paper from Basic Grey - Nordic holiday.  I used as well some card stock from BBP.  I used a few dies (Layered poinsettia, Fleur de lis rectangle, scallop circle, classic circle all from Spellbinder.  I also used Dee's wreath builder for the leaves). The ribbon and lace are from my stash.  I don't  do a lot of cards with lace... so this was a challenge for me.  I have it and love the look of it but I don't  use it a lot... what can I say that's why they call it a challenge right?!?

Here's the closer image of the stamped mimi.  I used my copics to color her up and then added some Liquid Appliqué and some glitter ritz.  I used the gathered twig distress ink all around the image and sentiment.
Here's a closer look at the sentiment.  I also added some Liquid Appliqué on it with some glitter ritz.  The sentiment is from a fabulous set over at Create with TLC.  You should go and check it out.
I hope that you will be joining us this week Dutch dare.  Don't  forget to check out the wonderful creations done by my fellow DT!

Hello everyone,

If you are looking for my Papelitos post... it's gone after I read the following blog Ardilla's winning I felt I could not represent a company that does this type of action.

I had already crafted my card for next week... and will not be posting it here.  Should it be posted on Papelitos challenge, please know that I have asked for it not to be shown as I have resigned from my DT position.

Thanks

Vicky

Digi Makeover challenge #59

This week at Digi Makeover Challenge it's all about the weather!!!!!

DM059

Well here in Montreal, Quebec, it's really starting to cool off... so this is really making me think of the fact that winter is just around the corner...

And of course winter to me smells of Christmas :D  So I decided to do another Christmas card!  That's the only good part of winter, Christmas... after that I would really love for all the white stuff to go away so that it would be easy to drive into work lol  anyhow... here's my card.
For this card I used the wonderful digi Moody for snow.  I used some paper that I just got!!! Wooohoooo loving the look of this paper.  It's Authentique - Peaceful.  I used my label 7 from spellbinder to cut the digi and the paper underneath it.  I used my die from Memory box - Frosty border (just looooooving this die).  I added some Robin's nest dew drops to the snowflake.  The ribbon comes from my stash and was just the perfect color for this card.

Here's a closer look at the digi that I colored with my copics.  I added some Liquid Applique to it and some glitter ritz - warm highlights for the sparkle effect of the snow.
And this is the sentiment that I added as I told you for me the snow smells like Christmas so I thought this sentiment from Create with TLC was just perfect!!!!

I made 2 cards again!  I just can't help myself when we have such amazing images to play with!!!!
For my 1st card I used a digi from Stitchy Bear called Frankie's Flower it's made by Stitchy.

For this card I decided to play with my new dies so I made a scenery instead of the typical layout.  I used some paper from BBP cardstock.  The dies that I used are Graveyard scene from Spellbinder, I used the cuttlebug rip and it's embossing folder for the left gravestone.  I used your next stamp die puffy cloud as well as my nesting glouds from Quickutz.  I added a little ghost sticker from CM.

The digi was colored using my copics.
I used a wonderful sentiment from Create with TLC.  It was part of the fabulous Halloween club.  I can't wait for the next club... you just get the most wonderful sentiments!  Whatever the card I have now the sentiment in my stash.  Thanks to Create with TLC.  I used weathered wood distress ink to age it and cut it so that it would fit on one of the gravestones!
For the 2nd card I used a wonderful digi called Peeking ghost 13608 it's from QKR.
For this card I used paper from Authentique - Glowing.  I had used the circle die in another card and was left with the negative effect... so decided to use it on this card!  I really like the end result.  I used my Label 2 to cut out the digi.  I added some stickers of bats that I got at the dollar store and the ribbon is from Making memory.

Here's a closer look at the digi.  I added some stickles to the ghost to make him sparkle!
And here's a closer look at the wonderful sentiment from Create with tlc. Also part of the wonderful Halloween club!  Now you really feel like you have missed out right?!? :D
