Jackson's Digital Expression - Challenge #15

Today at Jacksons digital expressions, our anything goes challenge's twist (if you want to play with it) is a wonderful sketch.  For those that follow my blog you know how much I just looooove those ;)

And to top it all of we have the wonderful:
  are sponsoring us!!!  How fun.

Of course you know me... I couldn't resist and just had to play with digis from both cies.   I'm so blessed to be able to do that.  I really count my lucky stars.

First off I would like to show you the card I made with Life gives you lemons from Robert Jackson.  I just loooove his digis.  I'm awful at doing African American's skin color, but his images look perfect with white skin as well... so I'm really lucky.  Here's my card:
I really wanted to give this wonderful image a fresh look and I think I have succeeded with this paper from K&Cie called lemon.  I really think it's perfect.  I also used a ribbon from Bobunny Alora Collection that I purchased at Ribbon Carousel.  The sentiment is a chipboard from Me & My big ideas.  I used copics and my distress markers from Tim Holtz to color this up.

My 2nd card is done with the image Isabella Beach.  She really reminds me of my vacation and makes me want to go back to the beach!  Here's the card:

I used Fancy pants paper pad called Beach bun and a Basic Grey chipboard balloon which I thought was perfect for this.   I also used some basic cardstock from BBP.  I used Robin's Nest dew drops and some ribbon from my stash.  I colored her up with my copics and did the sky with distress ink called stormy sky.

This is the fantastic sketch that I followed:
Sketch 10 3 color combo

I hope that I will have inspired you to play along with us at Jacksons digital expressions!  I'm looking forward to seeing your entries.

Tammy's Scrapin Corner - Challenge #21 - Anything goes

This week at Tammy scrapin corner it's Anything goes!!!!  I know you just loooove that don't you ;)  And we have 2 great sponsors :
Scrapper's Delights and New Stock added Daily!

How fun is that.  Not only can you play with anything you want but you get a chance to win fantastic prizes.

This week I decided to do 2 cards.  The 1st one is from Floppy Latte Design and is called Ship V.  It can be found at Stitchy bears Digital stamps.

I decided to go for a monochromatic look for this card.  I thought it would look like a masculine card!  I don't  make a lot of those...  I used papers that I had in my stash and added a button and some twine.

My 2nd card is made with an image from Robert Jackson called a hard day's work.  It's definetely fitting for 2 reasons.  The 1st one because I did a lot of shopping while in the states... and the 2nd because today I'm going back to work :(

For this card I used some paper from K& Cie and used some pearls from the dollar store.  The sentiment is from Your next stamps.  I used some embellishments of shopping bags from Jolie Boutique.  I thought they went perfect with this card ;)  So much so that it's already gone... a colleague of mine requested it lol

I hope that I will have encouraged you to join us at Tammy scrapin corner.  I just love commenting on your entries ;)))

I'm entering Ship V in the following challenges:
  1. Gingerloft challenge - Silhouettes
  2. paper makeup stamps - endless summer
  3. Crazy challenge - Under the sea or beside
And I'm entering a hard day's work in the following challenges:

OSAAT - challenge #124

Today at One stitch at a time challenge our challenge is to use a DIGI!  WOW it doesn't  get much easier

than that ;) Our sponsor this week if you use a Stitchy Bear image is

If you don't you are eligible to a 3$ to use in the store! That's pretty awesome as well because the images are really terrific.

And I'm really lucky because I got to use this week Little Friends from Stitchy. I say that I'm lucky because this image really reminded me of my house lol. I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, a rabbit, some fishes, a turtle and a bird ;) So this image really reminded me of home:

I used paper from Animal Antics by First Edition.  Some ribbon from my stash.  I also put some Robin's Nest dew drops.  I used Label 20 to cut out the digi as well as the layer underneath.  I also used MS border punch for the part underneath.

The image was colored with my copics and then I added some Pebbles- Classic Chalks Earth tones.  I thought the white was too harsh otherwise.  Here's a closer look at the image:

And here's the side view of my card:

I hope that you have liked it and will be inspired to play with us this week at One stitch at a time challenge.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

My Mother-in-law

My mother-in-law just lost her long battle with cancer last night.  She fought really hard for the past 3 years!

She will be missed by all her family!  She was one strong woman.  Probably the strongest that I have met.

We will miss you mammy!

Hello from camping - WOYWW

Hello everyone!  Today we have a gorgeous day! The type of day that I would have spent on the beach... unfortunately with the rain that we had on Monday there was an overflow of the sewer system in Burlington... and we can't go in the water... :(  So I'm enjoying the wonderful day outside coloring some of my images!  And I figured I would show you my workspace and play at WOYWW

I asked my hubby to take a pic to show you guys!  So this is me working on an image:
And this is my wonderful workspace ;)))

I bought the great black bag for the copics yesterday at a little store in Essex, Vermont.  Unfortunately they only had one... and it only contains 72 pens... so I still have a bunch of the other containers... oh well... more reasons to continue to shop ;)))

I'm really enjoying my time here.  Our second week of vacation is not as beautiful as the 1st... and we had the news that my MIL is getting much worse... My hubby went on Sunday to visit her at the hospital... probably the last time that he will see her while she is alive... so this time is really bitter sweet.  We just pray that she will not suffer.

A big hello to a new follower Just Yolie ;)  So happy to see a new face even if I'm on vacation!!!!

Hope you are enjoying yourselves as well!!!!

Jackson's Digital Expressions - Challenge #14

Hello Everyone!  Today at Jacksons digital expressions our Anything goes challenge is with the Alternate art team.  This means that the twist is to transform something.  And the transformation should be school related.  We are being sponsored by the wonderful Wonderful artist

I really love her designs!!!!  I've played with a few as you will have seen on my blog for those who have been following me for awhile.
As you guys know... I'm not usually really fond of transforming objects... really good with cards, scrapbook pages... but to put a digi on something else is a stretch for me.  But since I wanted to play along I thought and thought and thought some more and finally came out with this.

I started out with a brown paper gift bag bought 2/1$ at the dollar store:

And created this with it:

I used some papers that I had in my pile of scraps (the one with the balloons).  I added some buttons and put some ribbon through them.  The buttons come from Walmart.  And colored the wonderful digi called Bibi Balloons with my copics.  She was sooooo much fun to color up!  Here's a closer look:
Now for those of you that have read the entire post... you will be wondering how this has anything to do with school... well since I have 4 kids the start of the school year means that they will be invited to b-day parties and I will have to wrap up the gift ;)  So now all that's required is that I make a card to go with the bag... didn't have time for this post since I was leaving for vacation but I'll make one for sure!  And I'll blog about it to you guys.

So see?!?  It really wasn't that hard to make something other than a card... and I know you guys are way more talented than me for this!  So what are you waiting for?!?  Please join me up at Jacksons digital expressions.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Incy wincy designs - let's party
  2. Simon says stamp and show - hey girl
  3. Joyful stamper - Anything goes
  4. Phindys place challenge - button it
  5. Digi doodle shops best - Anything goes
  6. Verve stamps - birthday creation
I would like to take a few minutes to say a big hello to all my lovely new followers!!!  So nice to see you!  I see that many come from my wonderful DT teams ;)  I'm truly blessed to be able to create among such talented ladies and men!

Hugs everyone

DDC#21 -Anything with wheels

Today at Digi darlas our challenge is about "anything with wheels".  When I read that initially I thought right away about anything car related or automotive.... But I'm not much on doing man cards lol...
So I just had to think a bit and realized that a wheel barrel also worked!  YAY and there was the cutest little digi called Flower Bugi that was perfect for this.

To create this card I used paper from Daydream by first edition 6x6.  Love the shiny flowers on the paper!  I cut out the digi and the paper underneath with spellbinder label 14 die.  I paired this sweet digi with a sentiment from In my garden Jolinne by My favorite things (I've used that pack of sentiments a lot actually!  So happy when that happens!).  The ribbon is from the dollar store but it's really rich looking and the feel of it is wonderful.  The digi is colored up with my copics.

Hope you come and play with us!  Just for playing you could get this wonderful digi:

So what are you waiting for?!?  Come along at Digi darlas

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

I just loooooved creating with the wonderful image that I played with, it's called A braid in her hair.

To make this card I used a wonderful paper from Desert Blooms 6x6 pad from First Edition. I used the die Fancy #3 from Sixxiz to cut around the paper. I used one of my EK border punch to cut the border on the easel card as well as the border under the ribbon. I combined it with some Robin Nest dew drops. I used some great ribbon that I got at the dollar store (got to love those finds!).

Here's a closer look at the wonderful image that I colored with my copics:

Here's a closer look from the side of the easel that was made:

Challenge # 23 - Crafting when we can

Today at Crafting when we can challenges our challenge is Monochrome and our wonderful sponsor is

I had the chance to work with Hot Date.  This was a perfect image I find for monochromatic!

The paper that I used is from Desert Bloom by First Edition.  The ribbon comes from my stash.  I used my scallop square to cut out the digi and the matting paper underneath.  The sentiment that I paired it up with comes from TLC and is called "The heat is on".  I really thought this complemented this image well.  I colored up the digi with my copics and just had to add a touch of pink ;)

I really liked the way it turned out! And when I showed it to work... somebody took it right away for a wedding anniversary.  They liked the fact that it was not the traditional look ;)  Really love it when others like what I make.

I hope that I will have inspired you to play with us at Crafting when we can challenges.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Lej designs challenge blog - anything goes (2nd entry)
  2. Simon says stamp and show - no rule
  3. Dude time doodles - anything goes (masculine)

Jackson's Digital Expressions - Challenge #13

Today at Jacksons digital expressions our Anything goes challenge is with the twist of Inks and such.  Easy right?  I know that I love to play with my markers and inks... so I figured I would join them this week and play along ;)

Our amazing sponsor this week is

For this week I decided to play with a altered art take ;)  I never do this... but I read the instructions from our DT coordinator wrong... anyway I was sure that I was making this for altered art and thought it would be great... when I realized my mistake lol I figured it would still make for a great project, just had to add a bit more inks! ;)  Easy peasy.

So this is what I started off with:
It's a little easel with a canvas.  The image that I was working with from Bugaboo is Frame it Today's menu and I thought this would be a great addition to my kitchen.  Since I have 4 kids... there's always one or two or three (if I'm not lucky lol) that complaints somehow about the food!!!!  So this is the sign that I will be pointing them to from now on ;)))):

Isn't it fun?!?  Not sure they will like it but I do!  So really happy in the end that I read wrong lol.

I covered the canvas with DP comming from Colobok.  I used my copics to color up Stella and the pots.  Then I used my Tim Holtz distress ink pens to do the frame around the image.  And finally I took some distress ink pad with a sponge and sponged up the sign.  What do you think?  Have I inspired you to play with us?

Looking forward to commenting your entries at Jacksons digital expressions.

I'm entering this in the following challenge:
  1. My mums craft shop challenges - No cards allowed
  2. Crafty creations challenges - Free for all (2nd entry)
  3. That craft place blog - Anything goes (3rd entry)
  4. The poodles parlour - Use a digi (3rd entry)
  5. Simon says stamp and show - no rules
  6. Lej designs challenge - anything goes
  7. Creative inspirations - anything but a card

Really happy to have joined in today as I'm on vacation right now ;)))  Posting this prior to leaving... so I really hope that Mr blogger will be good with my posts ;)))

DDC#20 - Animal Crackers

Today at Digi darlas our challenge is Animal Crackers (you need to feature a cute animal).  And we are being sponsored by the amazing Floppy Latte Design!

For myself the digi that I played with is Dino Lunch.  There were a few last week used for the Noah's ark.  This is my time to show what I did with it.
I did... yes... an easel card ;)  my paper is from Lime Twist by my mind's eye and is called fly a kite it's a 6x6 (just love those packs since I don't waste as much paper with them)  I also used  BBP cardstock.  I added my Robin's Nest silver dew drops.

I colored him up with my copics.  I also used a technique that I found through a fellow Dt on the team to make clouds.  You can find the tutorial on the blog All the things I love.  She really has wonderful tutorials.  I used my own template and some blue distress ink.  Of course, it didn't  come out the way I had planned... but this is my 1st try ;)  Here's a closer look at the digi colored:

And here's a side view of my card:

I hope this will have inspired you to play with us and use one of those wonderful critters of yours ;)  Please remember that in order to win or be in the top 3 you need to use either a Digi Darla digi or a Floppy Latte this week.  Just for playing with us (even if you don't use one of our images) you will get this wonderful digi
So what are you waiting for?!?  Come and play at Digi darlas.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

For those of you that know me you won't  be surprised... I just couldn't help myself... I just had to create with both ;) For this 1st card I used Fairy Gun Gun from My heart pieces.

To make this card I used a wonderful paper from Desert Blooms 6x6 pad from First Edition. I used multiple  dies, Kim would be proud of me ;)))  I used Lacey circle, Bitty blossoms (for the flower and foliage) and a Marianne design creatables LR0150 (my 1st time using it).  The flower was cut from a foam that I purchased a the dollar store.    I colored the digi with my copics and added starry night stickles to her wings to make them sparkle.

Here's my 2nd card this time with Deacon and Bugs from Bugaboo.  I chose to create with him because he really reminds me of one of my boys!
I created an easel card this time.  I used my CM scallop border punch as the underflap.  I used some great paper six by six from my mind's eye.  I cut out the digi and the green piece with my scallop square.  I paired it up with a ribbon from the dollar store (yes I purchase a lot of my ribbons there!  It's a good price and I have a multitude of colors!).  I also used some Robin's Nest dew drops, I just looove those.

Here's a closer look at the wonderful image that I colored with my copics:

I'm soooo excited!  I was only supposed to start doing cards in the middle of August but I just couldn't wait lol.  So here I am at One stitch at a time challenge.    The sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear!!!!  Those who know me know how much I looooove their digis ;)  I have purchased a bunch lol

Our challenge this week is Anything goes!  How easy is that for everyone?!?

So I got to play with a wonderful digi from April at Rheeces Scrap Pieces called Greenthumb bear.
Yes I know... another easel card lol what can I say... I was never making them before and now I need to catch up! ;)  So to make this card I used Bobunny paper - Alora collection in 6x6.  I used quite a few spellbinders (yes I'm addicted to those as well) Standard circle, Scalloped circle and for the sentiment Label 20.  The sentiment comes from My Favorite things - In my garden Jolinne (really love those sentiments for all the wonderful digis such as this one with flowers).  I added a little butterfly sticker from DCWC and ... yes you know it Robin's  Nest dew drops in silver.  I also put a red ribbon from my stash.

Here's a closer look at my digi colored with my copics:

One last before the vacation

So that's my last post before vacation!!!!  Don't  worry I'll still be there... but it won't be live time... I've got all the upcoming post all set up on schedule!  So let's cross our fingers and toes that blogger doesn't  create an issue lol

I really wanted to play at Kraftin Kimmie before my vacation.  I missed playing last week... that almost never happens... and now I won't be playing for the upcoming weeks... so I wanted to put one in before.  This week the challenge is about using our favorite stamp!  How can I choose?!?  They are all so pretty!

Finally I decided to go with a little sweetie that I have used before:
I used Summer Breeze paper from First Edition for this card as well as my scalloped circle and standard circle dies.  I added some Robin's Nest Dew Drops.

I have colored this wonderful stamp called Friends are for Hugging with my copics.  I created the clouds in the background with my little handmade template and stormy sky distress ink.
And here's a sideview of my easel card:
To make this card I followed the great sketch at Fetch a Sketch:
