Fung La - The east wind - Mail art

Hello everyone!  I wasn't supposed to play with the wonderful freebie from The East wind because I'm just back from vacation... but I just COULDN'T resist!!!  So here is my make with the image Fung La that you would have gotten if you are a newsletter subscriber here.

I made a little postcard with this image.  You can see my process in the video here.

I'm putting this postcard in my Etsy store.  I thought that I would share some postcards thinking that if people don't have time to make some they might still appreciate sending them to their pals and might be interested.

Here is the postcard that I made using some mixed media way.  I have put lots of different papers that were on my desk.  The sentiment was found online and then I created it on a word document and printed it out at the same time as the image.
I'm entering this little postcard in the following challenges:

  1. 613 Avenue create - Anything goes
  2. Lil patch of crafty friends - Anything goes
  3. Pde linky party - Anything goes
  4. Crafty-girls-creations - Anything goes

Scribbles Challenge - Midway point - A little note to BUG you

Wow time sure goes by FAST!!!  It's already May 1st and that means the midway point of the challenge going on over at Scribbles designs challenge.  And this month it was all about bugs!  Fairly easy when you think bumble bees, butterflies, ladybug, etc are all eligible.

For my midway post I decided to do a little journaling out of the box you can see my series on those on my Youtube channel.  This one however was not taped.  The little playing cards that I use to make those are 3x3 inches.

The image that I used this time is Heart Tulips.  I colored this with my tri tone coloring pencils.  I fussy cut the image and seperated the little bumble bee because the image was not going to fit here otherwise.

The background was all made with some left over paints and some leftover stamping (I use some of my little cards to clean out my stamps and it was perfect for this background).  I used my liquitex medium to glue this on and the sentiment is from a magazine cut out.  The edge of the little journaling card was edge with my Faber Castel pit pen.  I also used some book paper on the background layer.

Hope you are inspired to try doing something like this.  Super easy and a small size if you are intimidated with mixed media :)

I'm entering this little journaling card in the following challenges:
  1. Crafting in a beautiful mess - Anything goes
  2. Crafting-with-friends - Anything goes
  3. Wordart wednesday - Family friendly - Anything goes
  4. Moo-mania - Floral
That's it for this post!  One more on the way.

Delicious Doodles Challenge - Flowers

Hello everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at Delicious Doodles Challenge and this time it's a super easy one so you should all be participating!!!  It's all about flowers.

For my make I used the fabulous image Daffodils to make a SUPER fast little postcard.  I have shared the making of it on my youtube channel you can see the video here.

And here is the final postcard.  I used a cereal box as the base.  Then I used some napkin that I had received in a swap to cover it up.  Did 2 layers of that.  I thought the black would be the perfect background for this yellow image.

The sentiment is from a magazine cut out.  The image was colored with my copics and then I fussy cut it out.

I'm entering this little postcard in the following challenges:
  1. Patties creations challenge - Easter or springtime - I'm doing springtime.  To me daffodils are one of the must have spring flowers :)
  2. Qkr stampede - april showers bring May flowers - yup hopefully :)
  3. Crafty creations challenges - black and white with a pop of color
  4. Inspiration destination challenge blog - anything goes
That's it for this post but there are more coming!!!  So please do come back!!!

Mother's day card

Hello everyone!  It's been awhile since I last posted here!  I've been away to Greece.  It was a wonderful trip with my hubby.  And of course that meant no posting and I didn't schedule anything either.  1st time in forever that I took a break from blogging or youtubing.  It was nice and I got my head filled with ideas and looking forward to making them.

I have made some mother's day cards today thinking that when I return to work this week there might be some requests.  The one that I'm about to share with you used a handmade embellishment that I made today.  I also made 2 sets (one yellow and one pink) to put in my etsy store.  You can find them here and here.

And here is the mother's day card that I made.  I used an image from Nicecrane to make this.  It's a precolored image.

I used my Quickutz die for this.  I used some seam binding that I distressed.   The paper is from Blush by My mind's eye.

I'm entering this little card in the following challenges:
  1. jwscrapshack - Mother's day
  2. Simply create too - Ladies only
  3. The stamping boutique challenge blog - Mother's day
  4. Creative knockouts - Lots of layers
  5. Mods quad challenge - Mother's day
That's it for me for today!  Hope you had a great week.
